Canton Pediatrics offers comprehensive care for children of all ages – from newborns to young adults, and for all the great times in between. Some of our services include…
Well Child Care
We perform well check-ups for babies, preschool and school age children, teens and young adults. Advise and guidance on common concerns, such as behavior, nutrition, exercise and fitness, and general development are provided as needed.
When your child is sick, you want to see your doctor – same-day sick visits are generally available, and we will work to accommodate you whenever possible.
We want you to be comfortable with your pediatrician. Prenatal visits are available so you can meet the physician and ask any specific questions you may have. Call our office to schedule a visit.
Canton Pediatrics physicians round on newborns at Mercy Medical Center and Aultman Hospital daily.
If you have a question or problem after regular office hours, call our office phone number (330-494-9797) and press 1 when the recording begins. You will be connected to our answering service, where a pediatric nurse will be happy to help you. If needed, one of our doctors is always on call.
Evaluation for sports participation can often be done with a well-child check-up, or separately if necessary. We can also evaluate basic sports injuries and provide follow-up for concussions, including return-to-play clearance.
We can provide evaluation and medical clearance for surgical procedures at Mercy or Aultman hospitals.
Canton Pediatrics supports childhood immunizations, and provides all routinely recommended vaccines in our office. For the current immunization schedule, click here.
We can provide initial assessment and treatment of common pediatric behavior and psychiatric problems, including depression, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and others. We work in cooperation with local counselors, psychiatrists, and support services to optimize your child’s care.
Asthma and Allergy
Allergy testing for common respiratory allergens is done on-site, and we treat asthma in children of all ages. Spirometry is available in the office to assess illness and monitor progress.
Dr. Shirali is board-certified in both general pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology, and provides consultation and ongoing care for diabetes, growth hormone deficiency, thyroid disease and other common pediatric endocrinology problems.
Many common pediatric tests are performed in the office, including urinalysis, lead and hemoglobin screening, rapid strep, mono, RSV and influenza tests.
